We don't want to bang on about this, but if your first race ended like this, you'd probably want it mentioning, wouldn't you?
Occasional Racer- enthusiasm far outweighs budget/mechanical knowledge/talent – drives car to circuit and thus far has driven it home again afterwards.
Race Highlights;
3rd in Class and Driver of the Day, Cadwell Park 2008
First time at the circuit and an unpromising weekend was in store after a heavy impact on a wet Saturday morning going backwards down Mansfield brought a quick end to qualifying and a trip back to the Paddock on the Recovery Lorry with thoughts of getting back to London, 250 miles away, a concern.
However, helpful ‘Banger Technology’ provided by Paul Merret, involving a
tow rope and a large Lorry soon pulled the car back to shape.
3rd in Class achieved on the Sunday as all but two of fiercly competitive
fellow Class D cars tripped over each other. As Murray Walker might have
said, “ To finish 3rd, first you have to finish, 3rd”.
Most likely to say; “Where does this bit go?”
Least likely to say; “Clear some more space on the mantelpiece, Darling”
